Photos from the hiking trail between Njunjes and Tarrekaise.
Today's distance is the shortest during this trip, but even so
it offers a great variety of hiking conditions.
Up and down, up and down. But mostly up. A little bit tiring but
mostly exciting to walk amongst all the flowers.
There are at least three high-lights associated with this alpine
plateau. First one is when we arrive after hiking thru dense vegetation
and the mountain scenery unfolds itself. The second one is the
walk itself. It is easy and the scenery is open, quite different
from the strenuous climb up. The third high-light is right before
we start our descent. Stones on both sides of the trail resemble
a gate and we can see the valley in all its splendor below us.
After taking so much height it doesn't feel right to walk down
again so soon. But who can feel annoyed by such a small thing
when one is greeted by all the Dwarf cornells down in the valley?
This is simply amazing! If it wasn't for the mosquitoes we would
probably stand with our mouths open, unable to move. So much flowers!
Down in the valley, the trail follow the Tarra river closely.
Here I once met a family with mountain bikes loaded with gear.
Knowing that will make our hike seem so much more easier.
Bogs, duckboards and white-birches is a common scenery during
the last kilometers.
