The cabins stand on an open field full of flowers between lake
Tarraure and the Tarrekaise mountain range.
The Åntilåpptå peak (1638 m) behind the cabins,
and the glacier and double peak of Staika (1794 m) 10 km away on the
other side of the lake, are the dominating landmarks. As with Njunjes,
this cabin is taken care by the Swedish Touring Club, STF, and there
is a simple assortment of sweets and dry foods to choose from.
To practice target shooting on sign posts seems to be a common denominator
amongst hunters world wide. The start of the hunting season is still
months away though, so no need to worry.
Åntilåpptå right behind the cabin.
Lake Tarraure is said to have good fishing. But no guarantees of course.
The peak of Staika is covered by clouds at the top right corner.
A basic kitchen to cater to our basic needs.
The feel and smell of wood, sitting alone. Looking at the mountains.
Still and quiet. A soft summer rain fulfills the poem.
It shouldn't be necessary this time of year, but if need arises we
do have a heating stove at our disposal.
