Day 1: Arrival

Our entry and departure point at the end of a narrow, winding road. Kvikkjokk is a small village, 130km from Jokkmokk, the nearest "big" city.

This is where we arrive after a car transfer from the airport. From Lapland airport (Gällivare) that would be 220km, and from Kallax airport (Luleå) 310km. Translated into time, it would be about 3 or 4 hours.

If your flight arrives early we can do some sightseeing along the way. Alternatively you could use the time to explore the nature around the Kvikkjokk Mountain Lodge. We could climb Vallespiken, a peak just behind the buildings, to get a birds view of the area. It is also possible to explore the Pearl River delta by motor boat or canoe. Or you could just relax and enjoy the scenery from the restaurant. This is also the last time you have access to electricity and showers, and the last time you can use your mobile phones. That is, if your mobile system is supposed to work in Sweden.
