Kebnekaise Mountain Lodge
Day 8 & 9
Where the white birch forest end, and the high mountains begin,
this mountain lodge offer all the comfort and modern conveniences
one could ask for.

198 beds in six buildings. The oldest part is from 1907, and the
newest additions were built 1991.

The main building complex. The stone walls of the closest building
are from the original house built in 1907.
Skarta. This is where the people working at the mountain lodge have
their private rooms.

This is one of the new buildings from 1991, a basic cabin called
Liddo.

Although basic, it still offers more modern comfort than we have
got used to during the last week. A soft landing before returning
to ordinary civilization.

The mountain lodge has an à la carte restaurant. Among other
things.

The Duolbagorni peak in the background is said to be the most photographed
mountain in Sweden.
A helicopter from Norrlandsflyg comes every now and then with passengers
and goods. Others choose to walk 19 km down to Nikkaluokta. There
is also a boat option halfway thru, which cuts the hiking distance
by 6 km.
