Misc. photos from today's trail
Day 3, Abiskojaure - Alesjaure

A 200 meter ascent has begun. Some parts are steeper than others and
it goes on for about 2 kilometers. If you are not used to this kind
of physical exercise it might take some time, but for each step we
take, the scenery gets more and more grand.

"Humility in front of the flower at the tree line, opens the
path to the mountains". The second meditation
stone has spoken.

Now, here we have something mind opening! Try to imagine yourself
in this environment on a warm sunny day. And it is quiet. Really quiet.
Maybe there is a soft, warm breeze and maybe you can hear some birds
in the distance. It's all here waiting for you. Flowers, birds, mountains,
and the solitude and silence.

The dirt oval in the foreground is a roundup place for reindeers.
It is not this obvious from the trail though, the dim diagonal line
in the middle of the photograph. This picture is taken from the Garddenvarri
peak towards south.

The white and soft remains of the willow flowers can sometimes become
large carpets on the ground.

Would you like to see how it looks from the top of this hill? You
are free to explore the surrounding nature on the spur of the moment
and follow every whim you get. You don't have to stay on the prepared
trails. On the contrary, I encourage you to sometimes drift away a
little from the group, to experience it all by yourself.

Njuikkostakbakti, 1370 meters, on the other side of lake Alisjavri.

From here it is possible to catch a small motorboat to the awaiting
cabins, an option in par with the rest of the luxury that comes with
Alesjaure. It might be nice to have a few lazy extra hours to spend
by the cabins if we arrive early.

You can see some of the small cabins of the Alisjavri Saami village
on the other side of the lake. In the foreground is a fenced roundup
place for reindeers.

You can see the Alesjaure cabins on a small hill in the foreground
where the river meets the lake, and the small pointed peak in the
distance is Garddenvarri.
From the peak we have followed the left side of the lake.
